About Mike

Driven by my own passion for rock climbing, both the practice and philosophy, my early work was as a rock climbing coach, introducing and coaching people of all ages, in all things climbing-related.
After 13 years I moved into arboriculture; working as a tree surgeon throughout Merseyside, utilising my climbing skills, with the added benefits of being outside, caring for nature, and hanging out with the birds.
I discovered Chinese Traditional Acupuncture after receiving remarkably effective treatments myself and becoming fascinated by its effects, mechanisms, and nature-orientated philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. These treatments and the ensuing study literally changed my life by presenting an ancient perspective on life, health and human beings that resonated with me strongly.

I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York; three years of eye-opening theory and accompanying supervised clinical practice.
During this time I also completed a diploma in Sports Massage, finding soft tissue work to combine well with Acupuncture.
In my free time, I enjoy being out in nature, exercising, reading, meditation, and relaxing.
